My suggestion is for you to draw the measurements off on a piece of paper and cut it out.  Hold the cut out in the opening of the gourd or area and see how it fits.  Some corks stick into the gourds more than others and only you know the true look you are trying to achieve.  

Remember, due to corks being soft, they will sink in a little lower than the measurements.
